Wonderful writing

           We are learning to use adjectives in our stories to make them interesting.

"I can write some good stories by thinking about my story." said Caitlin

We are learning to identify basic shapes and make a picture with them.

"The wheels are the circles. The sun has got triangles," said Caitlin.

I am learning to sound out 3 letter words and blend the sounds together to read the word.

"I can robot the sounds to make words.  It helps me to read the word." said Caitlin

We are learning to use water and a paint brush to blend our watercolour pastels. 

Dinosaur story

Caitlin, you are beginning to write a long sentence by yourself.  You are now using finger spaces.

"I can write my story by myself.  I make the sounds for the words." said Caitlin

Counting on from a number to 20

Caitlin, you are able to count on from a number up to 20.  You are using the Maths games to help improve your number knowledge.

"I can play snakes and ladders to help me learn." said Caitlin

Rhyming cat

We used our rhyming words to make a fat cat with all the rhyming words we could think of.

We are learning to write rhyming strings using our robot hands to help us hear the sounds in words.

Fun with Youth Town

Here I am participating in our Youth Town Programme. It’s all about having fun and learning new skills. I am learning to aim and throw at a target!

Visiting Pakuranga College

As part of our Science Inquiry we went to Pakuranga College. We made slides with our Science buddies and looked at them through the microscopes. 

Mathematics

I am learning to make patterns to 5.  I can use 2 different coloured blocks and say the number sentence.

"I can make 2 and 3 equals 5.  I can write my number sentence." said Caitlin

Reading

I am learning to point to each word so I don't miss any words out.  I am using the pictures as a clue for new words.


"I can point to the words, and look at the pictures to help me" said Caitlin

Bubble picture

I am learning to draw bubble shapes with chalk pastels and blend them to look like they are floating.

I am learning to illustrate a story that I have written from my story writing book.
